An independent school for girls in grades 6-12, inspired by the teachings of the Catholic Church, Montrose School was founded in 1979 and is located in the welcoming community of Medfield, 17 miles southwest of Boston. Montrose School attracts a talented and growing student population from 50 towns and communities.
The students and their families as well as the faculty and staff are noted for their commitment to the school’s mission - educating young women who are called to greatness of mind, heart and character. Faculty are members of a collegial community dedicated to professional excellence.
In addition to teaching four or more sections of academic courses and serving as outstanding role models to our girls, all faculty members at Montrose School are involved in student life as advisors to four or more students. Most faculty members are also homeroom teachers, coaches and advisors of co-curricular activities such as drama, publications, speech, service clubs and student-initiated groups.
All new faculty members are mentored by a veteran teacher in a formal program, and together with veteran teachers, they participate in various professional development opportunities throughout the year.
