At Montrose, girls take intellectual risks both within and outside the classroom. They develop a confident voice. Why? Because our faculty are passionate about their subjects. They are expert at working with girls and promote the kind of in-depth study and learning that take students beyond AP. As a result, our girls develop the intellectual virtues and character virtues they need to be lifelong, reflective and innovative thinkers.
Montrose is a two-time National School of Character.
Our outstanding faculty engage students in our academic program of core texts of the liberal arts alongside advanced math and science requirements in a setting that encourages curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. Thus, a Montrose liberal arts education helps young women encounter and learn from the best of literature, theology, philosophy, history, science, math, technology/computer science, world languages, and fine and performing arts.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate, Montrose students must complete a full senior year, earn a minimum of 24 upper school credits, and meet the following distribution requirements.
Required Academic Program for Upper School
English -- 4 credits
History -- 3 credits
Mathematics -- 4 credits
Science -- 3 credits (must include Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
Language -- 3 credits
Religion/Theology -- 4 credits
Electives -- 1.5 credits
Physical Education -- 0.25 credits
Students are strongly encouraged to elect a fourth year of study in all major subject areas.
